Sharing is caring! 230 Views no discussions Share We all know it’s common to “kiss a lot of frogs” before finding the right partner. The good news? It’s all worth it, because once you do find your match everything else begins to fall into place. Last year, I was insecure about having a serious boyfriend when I didn’t have full-time employment. I thought I had nothing to offer without a cool job, but the man I adore ended up helping me get to where I need to be career-wise, and the individual you’re meant to end up with will do the same and more. You may not immediately know that your significant other is going to be your spouse someday, but here are some signs that you two are bound for life.10. You have similar long-term goalsThis doesn’t necessarily mean you’re in the same line of work. That can be good too, but wanting the same things long-term — whether it’s having kids, a house, or lots of vacations — will help you through any obstacles you may face.9. You like each other’s familiesIt’s true that you don’t just marry your soulmate, but his/her family as well. Many people complain about the in-laws and this doesn’t indicate your union is doomed, but life is so much easier when everyone gets along for the most part. I’m lucky my current beau’s parents and sister are awesome, but a former flame’s dad was unkind and distrustful of me, so I figured out pretty quickly that I hadn’t met the right guy yet.8. You miss him/her when you’re apartWanting to be with the person you love all of the time doesn’t make you needy or annoying. It shows you cherish that person deeply and understand every experience — whether big or small — is better with him/her around. I enjoy watching The Simpsons in bed, but I always laugh harder at Homer’s antics when my S.O. is there cackling with me. Alone time is healthy, but so is wanting to giggle and chat with your favorite person in the world after a rough day at work.7. You’re always thinking about how your decisions affect each otherConsidering a new job? You’re also thinking about how it would fit with your S.O.’s schedule and needs, especially if you live together and share finances. This works both ways, so if he’s mulling over a drastic career change and wants to move to the other side of the world or country, he should also want to take you with him.6. You don’t want any secretsFor the longest time, I was scared to stay over at my boyfriend’s house because I had a major sleeptalking/walking problem that had been going on for years. I was embarrassed about doing something ridiculous in the middle of the night but he assured me he wouldn’t judge my behavior — he just wanted me there. Sure enough, I was so relaxed with him that my sleep yelling/walking issues went away in his presence. I’m glad I explained my hesitation up front so we could find a solution. The closer you are to someone, the more important things you’ll reveal about yourself — from your salary to your family history. The more they know, the more they understand you. The less-than-appealing stuff is important, too. The right person wants all of you, not just his/her idealized version of you, because that’s not real.5. Other people comment on how great you are togetherIf parents, friends, siblings and relatives can see how happy you make each other, you know it’s going to last. On that note, how cute are Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield? You don’t need to know them to understand what an awesome pair they make. These two should get married TODAY.4. You’ve survived tough times and blowoutsAs much as I admire couples who claim they never fight over anything, I think there’s something to be said about having productive arguments. Life partnership isn’t all snuggles and kisses, so it’s important to know you can get through disagreements before you tie the knot. There will be many rough days when you’re exhausted, chasing screaming children around the house and having unpleasant conversations about money and taxes, but if you can get through the fighting and awkward discussions without too many tears, you can handle marriage.3. You don’t have to look nice for each other all the timeThough you still like to dress up and surprise the other person with a pretty outfit, you two can be messy and lazy around each other and not even think twice about it.2. You’re a good teamTo paraphrase my former D.C. mentor Matt Lewis, it’s crucial to choose a partner with whom you can go to battle. As earlier stated, life presents us with plenty of battles, and the person you marry should be willing and able to fight them alongside you. That person should also be like a good reliable teammate. This may sound unromantic, but having someone who is there for you day in and day out, for better or worse, is as sweet as it gets.1. You already know what you’d say during your wedding vowsWhen it comes to the other person, you can always articulate what makes him/her so amazing and why you’ll be there for them forever. Whether you’re “engaged to be engaged” or just having fun dating, you know you’re going to love this person until the very end. You want everyone to recognize how lucky you are to have this person in your life.Hello Giggles LifestyleRelationships 10 signs you’re with the person you should marry by: – August 28, 2014 Tweet Share Share
Dodgers manager Don Mattingly is never afraid to shake up his lineup, whether to create a spark, buy a day off for one of his regulars or keep his role players fresh. But Mattingly has never had quite the flexibility that Zack Greinke gives him as a proficient hitting pitcher. Greinke wears batter’s spikes on the days he doesn’t pitch just in case, and Mattingly admitted the idea of batting Greinke eighth — a la former Cardinals manager Tony La Russa — is intriguing.“Maybe with Greinke,” said Mattingly, who has used 105 lineups in 117 games this season. “Maybe if we’re facing a left-handed pitcher and we have Dee Gordon in there.” Greinke batted eighth once with the Kansas City Royals in 2009.Mattingly and Greinke both said it would be ideal when the speedy Gordon is in the lineup.“In the right situation, it’s possible,” Greinke said. “It would make sense to bat Dee ninth because he’s so fast and it would be beneficial for the top of the order. But I think it would apply to everyone on our staff, not just me.”The Dodger pitching staff is hitting well, beginning with Clayton Kershaw’s Opening Day home run against the San Francisco Giants. Hyun-Jin Ryu has nine hits and Kershaw has eight.Greinke is batting .385, leading the Dodgers’ pitchers with 15 hits and two doubles (along with Kershaw and Ryu). He has also drawn five walks, including once as a pinch hitter against the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 10. “He’s probably as smart (at the plate) as he is on the mound,” Dodgers hitting coach Mark McGwire said. “Seriously, he loves to hit, and I love it as a hitting coach because I never understood why pitchers wouldn’t work at hitting, especially in the National League, because they help themselves so much.”When he was the hitting coach with the Cardinals, McGwire observed that Greinke, then with the Milwaukee Brewers, was an adept hitter.“He just kept going on with it,” McGwire said. “He really wants to know what the other guy is doing pitching. He’s ready to hit from the get-go. I can just tell by what he wants to do that he’s got a good idea.”Injury updatesIt is still anyone’s guess when shortstop Hanley Ramirez and outfielder Matt Kemp will return to the lineup.Ramirez again took ground balls during batting practice and more cuts during live batting practice.Mattingly said Ramirez was available to pinch-hit Sunday and was again available Monday night, and all but wrote off the possibility of sending Ramirez to the disabled list.Mattingly said Ramirez could return as soon as tonight if he was feeling well enough, or wait until Friday because of an off-day Thursday.“We’re going to see where he’s at. He’s got to be at a point where he’s not going to hurt himself again,” Mattingly said. “He can’t play just one game if it’s going to cost him seven. If he’s ready to play, he’ll be in there.”Mattingly said Kemp was at about 60 to 70 percent, but there are still benchmarks for Kemp to hit in his rehabilitation.“I’d like to see a little more explosion, and he’s got to be able to stop quickly,” Mattingly said.Bullpen lights outThe Dodgers bullpen continues to throw zeroes up on the scoreboard. The once-maligned unit has recorded 13.1 consecutive scoreless innings entering Monday’s game, last allowing a run on Aug. 7 at St. Louis. Opponents are also hitting .093 (4 for 43) with four walks and 12 strikeouts in that span.Since the All-Star break, the bullpen has a 1.76 earned-run average, the second-lowest in baseball.“To be honest, I think everyone is contributing at the same time and doing their part,” left-hander Paco Rodriguez said. “The starters are taking us deep into games and are giving us an opportunity to use all our guys in the right situation.“At the beginning of the year, we worked hard to try to get into rhythm, and we’re just going to try to keep it going now.”A-Gon shaken, not stirredDodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez complained of dizziness in the top of the eighth inning Sunday and had to be taken out for a pinch-hitter in the bottom of the eighth, but was in Monday’s starting lineup. In a season highlighted by Ramirez and Yasiel Puig, Gonzalez has been the steadiest Dodger this season, leading the team with 16 homers and 74 RBI. With his two-run double Sunday night, Gonzalez had recorded an RBI in six straight games.“Adrian is just a grinder. He comes to play. He’s an example guy to me,” Mattingly said. “Day in and day out, he keeps himself in the lineup. This guy is a big-time player.”Punto fetedDodgers infielder Nick Punto received the Major League Baseball Players Association Dodgers Heart and Hustle Award in a pregame ceremony from Fernando Valenzuela.Punto was chosen for the honor by a committee of MLB alumni players and is also nominated for the national award that will be announced Nov. 19 in New York City.Punto also received the award with Minnesota in 2010. Tolleson begins rehabDodgers reliever Shawn Tolleson made his first rehabilitation appearance Sunday for the Dodgers’ Rookie-level team in Arizona, throwing a scoreless inning with one walk.Tolleson made just one appearance for the Dodgers this season, on April 12, before needing back surgery April 25 to repair a herniated disc in his lower back.
