North sign with Orlando John talent management agency

Posted on by

first_imgOrlando John, the Swedish talent management firm has announced the signing of North to the agency.North is one of the leading Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams and the offspring of Danish soccer team F.C. Copenhagen. The move from Orlando John sees North added to an existing esports portfolio including Alliance’s Dota captain Jonathan “Loda” Berg, Ninjas in Pyjamas legend Emil “HeatoN” Chistensen as other notable Counter-Strike players such as Olof “olofmeister” Kajber and Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund.According to the agency’s website, the agency now represents over 12 individuals, competing across a huge range of titles. They’ve covered Dota 2, League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Hearthstone and even Overwatch. Away from esports, Orlando John is known for supporting traditional sports athletes and artists such as musician Wyclef Jean, actor Joel Kinnaman and other musicians.Nasim Abu Qouta, Head of Business & Partnership, Orlando John commented: “With great experience and the ambitious goals set for the future we are thrilled to work with North and to be a close partner in their growing success”. Christian Sørensen, CEO of North said: “Orlando John understands the unique vision behind North and embody the same values as we do. We are proud to have such a strong partner to help us push the North story.”North will compete in the ELEAGUE Major: Boston, for which qualification has just completed. The nine teams to join the existing seven Legends (of which North is one) will now head to Boston with $1,000,000 on the line. North’s squad will certainly be expected to go well given the amount of teams playing below full strength. Team Liquid are competing with their coach as stand-in, Astralis are just welcoming back Dev1ce after a long absence and SK Gaming are not allowed to play with Boltz.Whilst the Counter-Strike roster rules have come under some heavy criticism, it is what it is and the teams will have to make do with what they have. It presents an opportunity for North who bookmakers place as the fifth favourite heading to the event.Esports Insider says: Player representation is always vital in esports and this year it would be good to stamp out any horror stories. Orlando John is an agency with a substantial esports portfolio already, and now we can pop another Scandinavian client on the list. Best of luck to both parties in what should be a cracking relationship.last_img read more
