The University of Zagreb has advanced on the Shanghai list of the best universities in the world

first_imgThe Shanghai University Ranking or the Shanghai List of the World’s Best Universities (ARWU) is one of the most cited rankings of the world’s best universities published by Shanghai Jiao Tong University since 2003.  The University of Zagreb is the only representative from Croatia on this prestigious list, and it is in the field of tourism that it achieves the best position, to which the Department of Tourism of the Faculty of Economics has made the greatest contribution. “The methodology is rigorous and when calculating the position, only papers in the Web of Science (WOS) database, the degree of internationalization, international awards and publications in the top journals of the field are observed.. We are proud that our department is recognized domestically and internationally”Points out Assoc. prof. dr. sc. Josip Mikulić, Head of the Department of Tourism at the Faculty of Economics, University of Zagreb. Compared to last year, it is a jump of almost 50 places (216). The Department of Tourism has a total of 11 members, namely professors, assistant professors and assistants and external associates / Department of Tourism, EFZG The Department of Tourism of the Faculty of Economics – Zagreb is a member of the UNWTO Education and Science Council (EdSCo) and also the only representative from the Republic of Croatia in this prestigious world organization. The condition for membership is the possession of a TedQual certificate, which is a guarantee that education and research for the needs of tourism is carried out in accordance with the highest quality standards prescribed by UNWTO EdSCo. The Department of Tourism is the only educational institution in Croatia that has a TedQual certificate, which was awarded to it in 2001. Turkey 2013: P.E teacher to referee Ghana vs. Spain

first_imgFIFA Referee Benjamin Jon Williams, better known as Ben Williams from Australia will be at the centre of affairs when Ghana’s Black Satellites play European Champions Spain in a second Group A fixture of the 2013 World Youth Championship at the Ali Sami Yen Arena on Monday evening.The 36-year-old is a physical Education teacher at Belconnen High School in his native country and has been a FIFA referee for eight years.He officiated at the 2010 FIFA Club World Cup and 2011 AFC Asian Cup, where after terrible performance in Kuwait – China match, was sent to home and his position never been so strong like before.However, he is on the list of 52 officials for 2014 World Cup and he was selected to officiate at the 2012 London Olympics. Running the lines to assist referee Ben Williams will be compatriots Matthew Cream and Hakan Anaz.Top European referee Cüneyt Çakır from host country Turkey will act as fourth official.
